Fall Roof Maintenance You Should Consider Before the First Snow

Fall roofing inspection maintenance

Fall is a busy period for anyone who lives in a house with a garden and the tasks that need to be accomplished before the first snow include not only work around the house, but maintenance activities performed on the building as well. One of the most important parts of building maintenance is work on the roof – here are some of the tasks involved:

-          Roof and gutter cleaning – only a roof that is clean from any debris and dirt can perform well during winter, so removing all the dust, dirt, feathers, leaves and twigs that have gathered on your roof and in your gutter pipes during the summer is very important. Start from the top and clean the roof surface first, then scrape whatever debris has accumulated in your gutter pipes and the downspouts, making sure that no clog is left;

-          Roof inspection – identifying roof faults while they are still small is very important, therefore you should check every inch of your roof, paying special attention to sensitive roof areas, such as the roof valleys and the flashing stripes;

-          Repairs – whatever issue you have detected during your Crystal Lake roofing inspection needs to be remedied before the first snow, preferably while the weather is still mild.
